I am currently looking for my new family. To apply to rehome me please click on the 'Come and Meet Me' button below. Applications will close when I have found a suitable match. I will need to meet my new family at the centre a few times before going home. Young Benji has had a difficult start in life, to ensure we can set him up best he is looking for a specific home. His new home needs to be set off of the road with rural walks, this does not include road or park walks. Benji is reactive to strangers, dogs and traffic so to get the most out of his walks he needs to avoid these. Benji can be overwhelmed with new people, for this reason he can't live with any more than two people with minimal visitors. His handlers say he adores being out of his kennel, loves his quiet walks and playing with toys in our secure off lead areas. Benji will need to be kept onlead in public and will require a secure and private garden for some stress-free fun time at home! Once Benji has a relationship with you he enjoys having a cuddle, until you make friends he will need a hands off approach on his multiple meets here at the centre. Benji needs to be the only pet in the home, he cannot live with or have visiting children. It is a MUST that his new family want to do training and activities with Benji, he is asking for you to have the time to invest daily training with him (he promises to be worth every minute). Benji LOVES his toys especially tennis balls, he plays fetch with his handlers like a right pro! He also travels well in the car so would be happy with journeys to new exciting places for him to explore. Due to his needs, Benji will not be suitable for first time owners, but is looking for a calm, patient and understanding new home that have experience of rescue dogs with extra quirks. In these unprecedented circumstances, we're doing everything we can to continue our vital work caring for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs. If you'd like to help, please make a donation. Your support means so much, now more than ever.
