Lady Ruby Waggington - female Dutch Shepherd Cross

Lady Ruby Waggington is a very sweet, 3 1/2 year old crossbreed girl, who LOVES enrichment to keep her mind busy. She especially enjoys kongs, snuffle mats, and a good cardboard box to rip apart to discover goodies. Ruby takes treats nicely, and really loves high value snacks like cheese and hotdog. Offering these to her is a sure-fire way to gain her confidence, and they'll be very useful in her continued training too. Ruby is very playful with toys, and adores playing fetch with tennis balls. She is also partial to a squeaky, fluffy toy, we have taught her the swap game to combat her attempting to guard toys, although this happens a lot less, once she has a good relationship with you. She is very good at it, and adopters will need to continue this in her new home. Ruby travels well in the car, jumping straight in the crate, and loves getting out for adventures and a swim in rural places. Ruby will be a very rewarding project dog for someone who enjoys training, and who is willing to work with her to help her become the best girl she can be.

Lady Ruby Waggington is a super intelligent girl, who is looking for owners who will embrace her eagerness to learn. Ruby requires an adult only home, with a maximum of two people. Ruby would prefer a home with minimal visitors, and her adopters must be willing to put plans in place for those occasions when people do stop by. Ruby will need a home in a rural location away from traffic, and a secure garden with 5ft fences where she can run around freely. Ruby will need owners that are patient and willing to build a relationship with her here at the center before taking her home. Ruby is fully muzzle trained, and must be muzzled out on walks as she is fearful when strangers approach her. Once you are in Ruby's circle of trust she really is the sweetest girl, who loves a cuddle and enjoys learning new things. Ruby must be the only pet in the home, however she does have walking buddies here, so that may be a possibility for her outside too. Ruby absolutely loves water, and exploring new places. Ruby will need someone who's home a lot to start with, but her leaving hours could be built up over time.
