All animals, like us, have individual needs and requirements. By matching these needs we optimise the chance of a successful adoption placement. To make it easier for you to see if your home environment is compatible with the animal you have selected we have bullet pointed Maxwell's specific needs below.* Adult only household including visitors 18 years +* Need to be kept indoors (FIV Positive).* Would need own room in the home to settle into.* Only Animal.* Quiet Household.* Patient, Understanding Owner.Maxwell has not had the best start to life so far. He was straying for some time and a kind member of public noticed he was limping. Maxwell has been treated at one of our hospitals and is fully recovered and now on the look out for his forever home. It is not known whether Maxwell has ever experienced a home life, and understandably he is very frightened at the moment. He would need to go to a quiet, calm household with a patient owner who is understanding of his needs. He would benefit his own room in the house that would allow him to settle and also give him the space to retreat to if feeling overwhelmed. He needs to remain an indoor cat as he is FIV Positive (Feline immunodeficiency virus) so would need a suitable enviornment set up in order for him to mimic natural cat behaviours with enrichment such as scratch towers, posts, play and pounce toys and interaction food games. He would also need plenty of hidey spots that he can feel safe in. Maxwell can sometimes act defensive when feeling threatened so it may take time and patience to help him feel confident and be able to trust people. Maxwell can be handled with minimal restraint for the vet and he is gentle, however he is not a cat that likes to be picked up at the moment. He can be flightly so extra care needs to be taken with open doors, and windows must remain closed. Maxwell is desperate for the chance to experience a loving home with a kind owner, at such as young age he has only seemed to have had bad interactions. He is so deserving at a fresh start, could you offer him a suitable home? Please before beginning the application process for an animal from Southridge double check that the home you can offer meets Maxwell's needs. We would like very much to be able to respond to every adoption application we receive however at the moment this is just not possible for us to do. Therefore, unless your application matches the required criteria we will not be able to email you back, similarly if we receive your application after the animal you are interested in has been reserved. Please continue to monitor the animals we have up for adoption because one that is a perfect match for you and your home will hopefully become available soon.Thank you very much for considering adopting one of our animals. We really appreciate your kindness and support.
