Jed the Springer Spaniel cross is a beautiful 10-year-old man looking for a home to retire in and a family to help build his confidence in the outside world. It can take him a little time to warm up to people and he does prefer the company of men but toys are the key to his heart so if you can play a game of fetch with Jed, he'll be a happy doggie. Despite his age, he's still a playful boy with lots of energy. Jed loves his walkies but prefers them to be in a quiet, rural areas. Jed is looking for a calm, adult only home in a rural location away from roads and traffic within 1 hour of the Canterbury centre. Jed enjoys walking and socialising with other dogs at the centre, but he will need to be the only pet in the home. He is housetrained and will need access to his own private garden along with quiet, rural walk routes near his home. He can be worried at the vets and is not used to being groomed so would like a gentle owner to help him build a positive experience in this area. The training team will offer help and further support with his training in building his confidence. If Jed sounds like your perfect match please get in contact to express an interest. Please note if you rent your property you must be able to provide written permission from your landlord to keep a dog to complete the rehome process. Due to expected high levels of interest you will only hear back from us if we are able to proceed with your application. Due to the current government guidelines we are unable to rehome to any families that are vulnerable or self-isolating. We will conduct a rehoming interview with successful applicants and home visit via video. Access to emails and video technology will be essential for this process. During these uncertain times, whilst we have had to unfortunately close our rehoming centres to the public, we’d like to reassure you that our wonderful staff will continue to provide the best possible care for our dogs. We are now able to start the search for new homes for a small number of our awesome dogs. This will really help us to support even more dogs who are most at risk of being put to sleep as a result of this crisis. We have been overwhelmed by your offers of support, and we wouldn’t be able to do any of this without your help. We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to those individuals, who are doing everything they can to make sure our dogs get fed, walked, looked after and, as soon as we are able, finding them their forever home. We appreciate you thinking of us at what is a difficult time for all. If you would like to make a donation to support whilst we continue looking after the dogs in our care you can do so here...
