Bertie is now reserved and we are not accepting other enquiries.

Bertie was found as a stray in April 2020 and our staff have been working hard to help him build his confidence. Bertie is looking for an adult only home that has experience with extremely nervous dogs. He will need to be the only pet in the home as he prefers space from other dogs and does have a prey drive, so wouldn't be able to live with cats. Bertie can walk with quiet dogs but does prefer walking on his own.

Bertie is extremely anxious around people and will need a home where there is management around the minimal visitors to the home. Bertie does like receiving affection but it is on his terms and it has to be with people he feels comfortable with. Bertie will need a quiet home with access to quiet walks to reduce the amount of people he sees- so a rural location would be the ideal place for him.

Potential adopters of Bertie will need to be able to commit to frequent visits to help build up the bond with him slowly. Bertie will need ongoing behavioural support even when in the home so adopters will need to be in regular communication with our behaviour team, who are Bertie's main carers.
