Sid - male Greyhound

Adoption fee: Please check with the rescue

  • Centre:Dogs Trust
  • Location:Canterbury
  • Sex:Male
  • Breed:Greyhound
Handsome Sid is a 4 and a half year old Greyhound, he’s a huggable hunk who is a joy to be around. He loves to run, sniff and goof around, he has the silliest grin when he’s bounding around and loves to wander over for a cuddle. In true Greyhound fashion, he likes to lean on you whilst getting his fusses. Although he loves a zoom around and a chance to stretch his long legs, Sid has such a loving, affectionate side and adores cuddles with his humans! He likes toys, but doesn't always know what to do with them, he is a fun, playful and cuddly lad who will be such a wonderful addition to a lucky home.

Sid is looking for a home that can provide him with his own separate space to settle and rest without being disturbed, with adopters who can give him lots of adventures and love. As he can be a bit bouncy when excited, he is looking for home with children aged 14 years and over who are confident with larger dogs and will understand that he will want some space while he's resting. Sid will not be able to live with cats or small animals due to his racing history, and would prefer to be the only dog in the home. However, he would be happy with walking buddies when out and about. Sid will be going home on a lead and muzzle disclaimer due to his prey drive; adopters must understand that he can be quite strong on the lead when prey driven, so it is important they are capable of handling his strength. Sid has previously lived in a home and was very clean in both the home and kennels, but may need a refresher with his housetraining in a new home so a private, secure garden is preferred. Sid gets worried being left alone so is looking for an adopter who is home the majority of the time, he could build up to being left for short periods of time, but this should be introduced once he has had time to get used to his new home and routine and ideally be after a walk so he can relax and have a long snooze! Sid will need to meet his adopters a few times prior to going home so please bear this in mind when applying. Please note that should you be shortlisted, our rehoming process usually takes between 7 - 10 days.
