Miller - male Greyhound

Adoption fee: Please check with the rescue

  • Centre:Dogs Trust
  • Location:Ilfracombe
  • Sex:Male
  • Breed:Greyhound
Miller enjoys short walks & frequent play, then settles down for a nap. It is a common misconception that Greyhounds need lots of exercise, however it’s quite the opposite! Greyhounds naturally love to run but they can only sustain this for a short amount of time. Miller adores company, whilst stretching out on a sofa. He enjoys walking alongside some dogs but would benefit from quieter walks initially. He generally plods along nicely on his lead but may pull when he sees a small furry or cat. He’s instantly friendly with new people and showcases his affectionate side in reception. One of his carers has been taking him home and he has been enjoying snuggling on the sofa watching nature documentaries. Miller is a gentle giamt and loves nothing more than taking naps.

Miller is a five-year-old Greyhound looking for a loving home. He could share his home with children as young as eleven-years-old. He is looking to be the only dog in the home, without cats and small furies. Care may be needed around livestock. When out on walks Miller is required to wear a muzzle and lead, due to a high chase drive. Miller is used to the sights, sounds and smells that a home has to offer. He is not used to being left alone, so this will need to be built up gradually. He will need a home with a garden and would love trips to a large, secure field. He is happy to travel in the car and has history of being housetrained. Experience of the breed or research prior to adoption would be beneficial.
