Scout - Male Rottweiler
Adoption fee: Please check with the rescue
- Centre:Dogs Trust
I am currently looking for my new family. To apply to rehome me please click on the 'Come and Meet Me' button below. Scout will need to meet his new family at the centre multiple times before he will be ready to go home. Applications will close when I have found a suitable match. Two-year-old Scout needs his forever family to have experience of large, boisterous breeds and dogs that are unsocialized (please let us know of your experience on your application). He has a very high prey drive so must be kept on the lead when out and about on adventures. Due to his prey drive and needing 1-2-1 time he must live as the only pet. Scout is great with his known handlers and enjoys a calm cuddle however, he can become easily overwhelmed which can escalate to mouthing behaviours and is not suitable for first time owners. For the above reason Scout needs his home to not have more than 2 people. Scout is highly motivated with tasty snacks! He will need you to be keen to continue his positive reinforcement training to become the best lad he can be. Scout will need a secure and private garden at home, he is not comfortable socialising with dogs so popular walking routes will need to be avoided. He is going to need an adult only home with no visiting children as he will find them too overwhelming. Scout will need you to have very limited leaving hours to give him the time he deserves and needs! In these unprecedented circumstances, we're doing everything we can to continue our vital work caring for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs. If you'd like to help, please make a donation. Your support means so much, now more than ever.
