EVE - Saluki
£135 estimated adoption fee
- Location:Potters Bar
All animals, like us, have individual needs and requirements. By matching these needs we optimise the chance of a successful adoption placement. To make it easier for you to see if your home environment is compatible with the animal you have selected we have bullet pointed Eve's specific needs below. Please before beginning the application process for an animal from Southridge double check that the home you can offer meets Eve's needs. We would like very much to be able to respond to every adoption application we receive however at the moment this is just not possible for us to do. Therefore, unless your application matches the required criteria we will not be able to email you back, similarly if we receive your application after the animal you are interested in has been reserved. Please continue to monitor the animals we have up for adoption because one that is a perfect match for you and your home will hopefully become available soon.Thank you very much for considering adopting one of our animals. We really appreciate your kindness and support.Eve (with the fluffy ears) and Dasher find themselves at Southridge and are looking for a home together. Eve is a shy girl which may have something to do with her being deaf but she is slowly starting to come out of her shell. They can not live with any small animals such as cats or rabbits and when out on walks as `sight hounds` they will be very interested in wildlife. A family unit with children of 14 years and older would be great for them. We`re looking for a quiet household as Eve can be timid. She very much relies on Dasher for confidence. We don`t know if they`ve ever lived in a home environment previously so training in all areas will be needed. Due to their energy levels, excitement and speed they will need a large secure garden with fencing at a minimum height of 6ft. A small holding with a secure area for them to let off steam would be ideal. If you live close to a training field, which can be hired out for private use, this may also be an option but a large garden area is still needed. Training classes will be essential. They are very strong when being walked together and currently this is a two person job. They do pull towards other dogs and animals when on the lead which will need addressing along with other issues. They love to` play fight` with each other which can become boisterous at times. Mental stimulation in addition to their walks will help tire them as they are still very puppy like in their nature. We are looking for an owner who has experience with sight hounds and behaviour in general as it is important that the balance between correcting behaviour and allowing freedom is understood. A beautiful pair of hounds in desperate need of a loving home.Amongst other things, the main criteria matches are:- Must be homed with Dasher.- Securely fenced (min 6ft) small holding or very large garden.- Family members 14yrs and over.- No cats or other small pets.- To attend training and socialisation classes.- Experience of `sight hounds` preferred.
