Jess - female Beagle Cross

Adoption fee: Please check with the rescue

  • Centre:Dogs Trust
  • Location:Salisbury
  • Sex:Female
  • Breed:Beagle
Jess is a real lover of the outdoors and enjoys quiet walks in the countryside. Typical of her breed she loves to use her nose, so scent work, food puzzles and enrichment are a great way to keep her busy. Once Jess has settled into her new home she can potentially be left for a period of time, she’s more than happy in her own company and can settle nicely by herself with her favourite soft, squeaky toys.
Jess likes her training programmes and will need her training to be continued in the home; our fabulous training and behaviour team will be on hand to support you and Jess throughout the reserve process and once she has gone home. Jess is currently on medication so her new owners must be aware there will be some medical costs which will be discussed in detail during the reservation process. If you are shortlisted for the lovely Jess a meeting will be setup within 48 hours. Please be aware that Jess will require 5-6 visits over a 2 week period to form a bond, so it is important you live no more than an hour away.

Jess is a pretty 7 year old Hound. She has settled really well here at Salisbury and is now ready to find her forever home. Jess would prefer an adult-only home, however, this could be lowered slightly dependant on the experience and confidence of any younger adults in the home.
Jess' new home should be in a quiet area set back away from roads and traffic where she can relax and get on with sniffing and exploring. She will also need her own room where she can go to relax when visitors come round. Jess is a smart and curious girl who can open doors so a home with a secure garden and secure, lockable doors is essential. Jess does need to be the only pet in the home but after successful introductions she could potentially have some four-legged friends to walk with. Jess can find some people quite scary therefore will be required to stay on lead and wear her muzzle out on walks.
Jess thoroughly enjoys her treats and it’s important that Jess doesn’t have access to the kitchen in her new home as she will take food off the table or counter!
