Lilypad - female Belgian Shepherd Dog (Malinois)

Adoption fee: Please check with the rescue

  • Centre:Dogs Trust
  • Sex:Female
  • Breed:Belgian Malinois
If you're looking for a dog that can keep up with your active lifestyle, then look no further! Lilypad would love an adopter that could match her zest for life and energy levels. Agility, hiking, dog sports... you name it, Lilypad could do it. She's also a joy to train, so an adopter who wants to teach her new things and continue the training already in place would be ideal. Lilypad has not been socialised much with other dogs, but together with her favourite handler Leanne, she has made lots of progress already and has been able to walk nicely with certain dogs after mindful introductions. Our Training and Behaviour team will provide all the guidance needed to any potential adopters with a view of continuing this in the home. Lilypad is a fun girl who is affectionate with people she knows, once she has settled in she will be an absolute cuddle monster and will soak up all the affection an adopter has to offer. Lilypad has masses of potential in the right home, with adopters who are looking for an active, fun dog. Could you offer Lilypad her final, forever home?

Beautiful girl Lilypad has not had the best start in her young life; at only three-years-old she has had two litters and two different homes, so she's now keen to find her forever home where she can get all the attention and exercise she could wish for. Lilypad's ideal home would be in a semi-rural location with a decent sized enclosed garden with a minimum of 6ft fencing. Lilypad's new home should be in a low dog-populated area and there shouldn't be any noisy neighbouring dogs either. She would like her new family to consist of adults only and they should be happy to come and meet her a few times to get to know her. She would prefer to have someone around for the majority of the time whilst she is settling in. Lilypad will need to be kept on a lead and muzzled in public but as she is muzzle trained she doesn’t mind at all! If you rent your property, please ensure you have written permission from your landlord before applying for a dog.
