  • Sex:Female
  • Breed:Bull Terrier
Mimi is a wonderful, sweet and very smart 3 year old English Bull Terrier Cross looking for a home that can give her all the love she deserves. She is a playful girl who loves her toys and prances around with glee when a game of fetch is on offer! Mimi is a sensitive little lady who is a bit scared of other dogs and can get a bit fearful when she hears unexpected noises, so her new owners will need to advocate for her and help her stay happy on her walks, helping to build her confidence. She absolutely loves walking in the woods where she can do lots of sniffing, however, if it is raining she will opt for a duvet day instead! Mimi has such a gorgeous nature and with patience, time and lots of love will make such an adorable, loyal and fun companion. You can see more photos and videos of Mimi and all the other dogs in our care on our Instagram account @DogsTrust_Canterbury

Mimi is looking for a calm and predictable home with adopters who have the time and patience to settle her in at a pace she is comfortable with. She would prefer a rural area as she struggles to settle in noisy environments. Due to her worried nature and need for a peaceful home, she will need an adult only home with no other pets, ideally with minimal visitors especially when she first goes home. Mimi is quite fearful of other dogs, preferring not to approach them and keep herself to herself, so walks in quieter areas will be ideal for her. Although she has lots of tricks under her belt, her adopters should be prepared to undertake some basic training including housetraining, so she will need her own secure garden which will need to have 6 foot fencing to keep her secure. She does prefer to have company for most of her day but if introduced slowly could manage short periods of time on her own. Mimi does take a daily medication to help her cope with her anxieties and our team can offer advice on this to her adopters once she goes home. She also needs a low fat diet and treats to control Pancreatitis. She will need to meet her adopters multiple times prior to going home to build a strong bond and will need visits from our behaviour team once she goes home so adopters will need to live within 45 minutes driving distance from the Canterbury Rehoming Centre so please bear this in mind prior to applying for her. If you rent your property, please have written permission from your landlord ready once you have submitted your application to avoid delays, as it will be required early on in the rehoming process if you are shortlisted.
