Ricky - male American Bulldog Cross

Adoption fee: Please check with the rescue

  • Centre:Dogs Trust
  • Sex:Male
  • Breed:Bulldog
Once settled, Ricky is happy to be left alone for a few hours, he will happily settle and snooze, especially if he has some enrichment to complete before his naps! To ensure a smooth transition into the home, multiple visits to the centre along with home visits will be needed to get to know Ricky and build a bond with him.

Ricky is a wonderful, 3-year-old, Bulldog cross who has well and truly won the hearts of everyone here at the centre! Ricky can be nervous of new people and over handling so will need a patient home who can keep up with his training, in order to build his confidence. He is currently in foster and enjoying all the comforts of a home. A regular routine means he is now housetrained, and he has settled very quickly in the home. Ricky loves his food, walks and especially belly rubs! Ricky has been known to show resource guarding around food so will need an experienced home who have dealt with similar behaviours. Ricky gets super excited at walk time and enjoys getting the zoomies out in the fields! Positive training is ongoing, and he is very enthusiastic especially when he knows that a treat is on offer. He knows the basics sit, come and wait but his enthusiasm does takeover at times and can be quite excitable! Ricky will say 'hello' to dogs when out and about but mainly he likes to have a good sniff around. He loves water, especially the sea and quite often goes for a paddle. After a long walk and all the sniffing, Ricky loves nothing more than curling up in his bed for a nap before the next meal. Ricky has a variety of canine friends at the centre but would prefer to have his new home all to himself without any other pets or children.

The height of this dog is below the threshold required for a dog to be considered an American Bully XL type.
