Winston - male Bulldog

Winston is 2 years old and can’t wait to get back into a home. He originally came to us through no fault of his own as his owner became unable to care for him. However he found a new home environment a bit overwhelming and has since spent a while in kennels while he was waiting for some surgery to help with his breathing. Now this is all done he is ready to find his forever home. Winston has a history of being left for a few hours without any issue, and while this will need building up again he should be able to cope with this again in time. Winston is happy to jump into a car, and even refused to get out at one point, so car travel should definitely be an option for him! Winston adores his food and enrichment and these can be used both to win him over initially but also as rewards in training, which he really enjoys. He’s a loveable chap with so much to give, and we can’t wait for him to find his perfect match!

Winston is a sweetheart who would love to find a quiet home. He has been known to be nervous of new people, and struggled a bit with visitors to his home, displaying this through some over-the-top behaviour. For this reason he is looking for an adult-only home where he has a safe space all of his own to use if needed. He would also ask to have a short intro to visitors before they came round. Winston has been very friendly at the centre, so we believe that with these strategies in place he will be able to show his true cuddly nature. Winston can be unsure around some dogs so he would appreciate a family that will build his socialisation slowly. He does have the potential to have walking friends, but needs to be the only pet in the home. Winston does have hip dysplasia and is on pain meds for this.
