17-02-24 Lora is a beautiful girl who has come from her breeder to find a loving home. She has a Grade 3-4 heart murmur that will need to be monitored by her new vet but doesnt need any medical intervention at this time. She has needed to have 5 teeth removed by the vet as well as a small mammary lump. She has mild otitis and is on ear medication for a week. She is a little overweight at the moment and will feel much more comfortable as she loses some excess weight with an introduction to exercise. Lora is a darling who can already walk on a lead and will love going for long walks with her new family. She is timid when she first meets you but does settle and is easy to handle. She enjoys a gentle fuss and loves to snuggle with her kennel friends so will need at least one kind resident dog in her new home to help her settle into home life and learn new skills such as house training. She is a really lovely, gentle soul who is looking for a calm home with adopters who have plenty of patience and arewill to help her bloom. She has a PETS passport travel doc. 11-03-24 UPDATE We've had Lora here in Foster for two weeks now. What an adorable dog she is. She loves her walks, but not more than a mile, then she likes to be looking back towards home. She let's me clean her feet after being out. Very polite and quietly waits her turn in the queue! Lora likes her food and will eat everyone else's too if you let her. She is just getting used to the idea of treats. Soon we will introduce the idea of treats as rewards. Lora does go outside for toilet breaks. She is pretty well housetrained with the door open every couple of hours. She goes through the night without needing to go. Lora loves her humans and is content to sleep next to you on the sofa or on the bed. She does cry if she cannot see her human so it will be important that she has someone with her for much of the day. Lora does not interact with the resident dogs but she does gain reassurance from their presence. There will need to be at least one maybe at most two calm, quiet natured similar aged resident dogs of similar size as she doesn't seem to care for the small dogs at all and does not care for yapping playful or younger dogs. Lora is looking for a quiet life just to be with someone to spend her time with. She is so easy to care for and grateful for all her cuddles. She will make someone an amazing companion.
