Soul - male Collie (Border)

Soul is around 1 year old and has come into our care with no home history. He’s a truly beautiful boy inside and out who is finding kennels very overwhelming. He loves being around people, but this does mean that he will likely show separation related behaviours, and would therefore like any time left alone to be built up from scratch. Getting in the car is also a little scary for him so he’d love to have his walks straight from the doorstep. Soul can be rather conflicted and is not sure whether he wants to interact or not, so would benefit from an understanding family who will take things at his own pace. He really tries with his housetraining and knows several commands already, so definitely has the potential, he just needs that initial patience and time.

Soul is a sensitive sweetheart who would be most suited to a quiet home with a secure garden all of his own for outside sniffs away from the outside world. He’s a wonderful lad but can be rather worried initially. With a slow approach he’s fine, and so while he won’t want to share his home with young children, those of secondary school should be fine as long as they are able to pay attention to his body language. Soul is ok with other dogs out and about, and seems to want to interact. He lacks a bit of confidence but could potentially live with a calm dog who would be able to act as a role model for him.
