Adoption fee: Please check with the rescue

  • Centre:Dogs Trust
  • Location:Ilfracombe
  • Sex:Male
  • Breed:Collie
Dodger is a thirteen-year-old Collie-croos-Dalmatian who still has lots of energy. Anyone who meets Dodger loves his personality and his lovely temperament. He enjoys going out for walks, he likes to play with toys sometimes, and he loves to meet and greet new people and have a fuss. He is an affectionate boy and loves snuggling with his foster carers on the sofa. He thinks he is a lap dog at times, and can be described as goofy, and funny. They describe him as being 'the perfect house dog'. He often snoozes on his bed while his foster carers work from home. Dodger is reactive towards other dogs, which means that when he sees them he lunges towards them and barks. He is therefore best suited to a nice rural area where he can relax and enjoy his walks in peace. Dodger is not a dog suited to cafes, pubs, or town centres. He knows his basic training including a ‘sit’, ‘paw’, ‘touch’, and has some name response. Dodger enjoys treats. It may take him some time to settle into a new home initially but with time and patience will do well.

Dodger is looking for a loving home where he could share with children as young as eight, the adults must be the ones to do the walking. He is looking to be the only dog in the home and a home without a cat. We have no history of him with small furries or livestock. Dodger is housetrained and is happy to jump in the backseats of the car. Dodger is friendly with new people and with visitors to the home. He could cope with a reasonably busy home environment, and would be best suited to quieter walks in low dog populated areas. He is currently living off-site in a foster home on our Home from Home Scheme. Dodger will need a home with a garden as that is where he likes to toilet, rather than on a walk.
