Milo - male Collie (Border) Cross

Adoption fee: Please check with the rescue

  • Centre:Dogs Trust
  • Location:Norwich
  • Sex:Male
  • Breed:Collie
Milo has been a friendly boy with everyone he has met at the centre and he loves going out for long walks with our carers. He especially likes to use his nose to get all the good sniffs. Milo is a fast learner and loves to work on his training, he has already mastered sit, paw and a touch whilst being with us. Milo has walked with a few dog friends here at the centre but he shows no interest in wanting to interact with them. He can become frustrated if approached face to face so calmer dog friends would be preferred. Milo can be a little conflicted around too much handling so it will be important to read his body language well and allow him to move away if he is feeling overwhelmed. Milo has lots of potential in the right home, he just needs a bit of time to decompress from kennels to blossom. Please note that you won't be applying for a specific dog, but you can tell us what type of dog you're looking for. You can also add up to four favourites to your application to give us an idea of the dogs you like, so we can consider you for similar dogs. Once you've submitted your application, we can't change or update your favourites. Adding a dog to your application is not a reservation but a guide for us to find you a match.

Meet Milo, a sweet boy who found his way to us as a stray. Milo is approximately 2 years old and we think he may be a Collie/Staffy mix. Milo's ideal home would be with a family who has the time and patience to build up his confidence and trust with people. He would benefit from a home where there aren't too many visitors and where he has a safe space to retreat to when people come to the front door. Milo needs to be the only pet in the home but could have calm dog friends out on walks. A secure, private garden with a 6ft fence is a must. Milo struggles with formal handling at the vet and will need to be muzzled for vet visits, potential adopters should be happy to continue his muzzle training in the home so he can wear it comfortably. If you rent your property, please ensure you have written permission from your landlord as this will be required before we can proceed with your application.
