Summit - male Collie (Border)

Summit is a clever boy who would enjoy learning some new skills in his new home such as walking loosely on lead. He is a young boy and would like a fairly active home that can keep him physically and mentally stimulated. Summit can be a little conflicted when he meets someone new, which translates into jumping up but then being worried by too much fuss. Potential adopters should be mindful of this and allowing him the space to move away if he chooses. If you rent your property, please have written landlord permission before applying for a dog. You won’t be applying for a specific dog, but you can tell us what type of dog you’re looking for. You can also add up to four favourites to your application to give us an idea of the dogs you like, so we can consider you for similar dogs. Once you’ve submitted your application, we can’t change or update your favourites. Adding a dog to your application is not a reservation but a guide for us to find you a match.

Summit is a sweet 2 year old Collie who came into us with very little background information. We are unsure whether he has been in a home before so he is looking for patient adopters that can help him settle into his new home. He can be unsure around other dogs and does tend to try to stalk/herd them which other dogs can find unsettling. He will be best as the only dog in the home and would benefit from some further training around dog interactions once settled. Due to Summit's worried nature, his new home should consist of adults only. Summit will need an enclosed garden with at least 6ft fencing as he enjoys a run around but can be a bit of an escape artist as he can jump very high!
