Astro - male Dachshund (Smooth Haired)

Astro’s favourite thing to do is snuggle up and relax in bed with his friend Scrappy Doo. They share a beautiful bond and are bound to make for wonderful additions to a family who can dedicate lots of time just to them. This includes keeping them company at home in the initial stages of settling them in. Whereas Scrappy Doo is happy to receive fusses from new friends, it may take Astro a little longer to feel comfortable with tactile interactions. Patience, a ‘no pressure approach’ and plenty of tasty treats will help a great deal when it comes to building his friendship. Although he hasn’t paid much interest in toys since his arrival in our care, we feel that Astro’s playful side will begin to blossom as he settles in at home.

Astro is a sweet Dachshund looking for a home with his best buddy Scrappy Doo! These loveable lads will need to be the only pets in their new abode and would benefit ongoing training to help build up their social skills around other dogs. They’re looking for an adult-only home, due to a previous history of growling at a child, and because of their nervous nature’s. Patient adopters, who can support Astro and Scrappy with some general confidence building would be ideal. While Astro is an excitable chap on his walks and enjoys exploring, he can be apprehensive when there’s lots going on around him and when seeing other dogs. As such, we feel he would be better suited to quieter walking areas.
