Bjorn - male Dutch Shepherd

Bjorn would benefit from owner with experience of Dutch Herders/Malinois or similar working breeds. He is a super bright dog & needs to have mental stimulation as well as physical exercise. Bjorn will need to be the only pet in the home. He doesn’t have many manners when it comes to meeting other dogs so he will need dog savvy owners who are willing to continue his training & work on his dog socialisation. Bjorn is a handsome 3 year old Dutch Herder/Malinois cross. He is a very energetic boy who loves to be out exploring in countryside settings. Bjorn would love active owners to take him on these adventures and he is more than happy to jump into a van or larger car for the journey. He enjoys walking on a longline through quiet fields where he can do lots of sniffing and exploring. His favourite activities include playing tug, scent tracking and running around like a hooligan! Alongwide these activities, he would love to show his new family his training programme. Bjorn's ideal home would be away from busy roads and walking areas. He will need a secure garden of at least 6ft fencing for offlead exercise and training. Bjorn's new family ideally will need to live within within an hour of Salisbury rehoming centre so that they can visit a few times before adopting. Bjorn is a sensitive boy and will need to get to know his new family well before moving forward in the adoption process. He will need to wear a muzzle, harness and collar when in public and in unknown environments. Once he is in a new home, Bjorn will need someone around most of the time to help him settle in and gradually build up the time when is left at home alone.
