Rosie - female Retriever (Golden) Cross

Adoption fee: Please check with the rescue

  • Centre:Dogs Trust
  • Location:West Calder
  • Sex:Female
  • Breed:Other / Mixed Breed
Rosie missed out on a lot of socialisation when she was a young puppy and because of this she is very mistrustful around people. She is worried by fast hand movements and of being held by her collar. She does not like being groomed or seeing the vet, and must wear a muzzle. Rosie has a fun and loving personality with those she trusts and likes, however, she easily becomes overwhelmed and defensive in situations that involve showing her affection. She takes a long time to build relationships and will need people who can respect her feelings and accept her for who she is. Rosie will need an experienced owner who can understand her needs, someone who has owned behaviourally challenging dogs before and can keep to a strict routine to help Rosie feel safe and know what to expect in her day-to-day life. Rosie is house-trained, comfortable being left alone for a few hours and loves to travel in the car. Rosie will need to meet her new owners several times at the centre to build a trusting friendship before being able to go to her new home. Please know we will only be considering applications that match Rosie’s criteria. AWE licence number 176240 by West Lothian Council.

Rosie is a 9-year-old Goldendoodle. Before applying for Rosie please read her full bio. Rosie is looking for a quiet home with a maximum of 2 adults in the house. Rosie does not like to share space with people, and is looking for owners who can provide her with her own separate room away from the general living areas, where she can be left alone to rest and sleep without being interrupted or disturbed. Rosie doesn’t like to be around people she does not know and trust, she can’t be around children and would need to be the only pet in the house.
