Ruby - female German Shepherd Dog Cross

Ruby is 9 years old and after a turbulent year is looking for a retirement home. She was found as a stray and on arrival in our care was diagnosed with heartworm. This meant a long period of treatment during which she could not be exercised off-lead or spend time around other dogs. These treatments have now come to an end, and we’re thrilled to be able to start looking for her new home. As her recent life has been quite sheltered she will need a patient family who can reintroduce her to home life, and build things like time left alone from scratch. She is almost entirely housetrained though, even in the kennel environment, so it shouldn’t take long for her to perfect this. There’s nothing Ruby likes more than soft teddies and a cosy bed so if you can provide those please do consider adding Ruby as one of your favourites!

Ruby is an older girl who is on the search for a quiet retirement home all of her own. She will need a patient family who are willing to go through a longer adoption process as she will need multiple meets with her family to show her true, friendly personality. Ruby has been able to mix with some dogs in centre, but she can be reactive at a close distance, especially towards smaller breeds, so would like to be the only pet in the home with access to quieter walking routes.
