Vinny - male German Shepherd Dog

Vinny is a loveable large GSD who is around 7 years old. He enjoys gentle fuss and absolutely loves his food! We don’t have much history for him at all, so a patient family who can teach him all the basics would be ideal. Vinny does know ‘sit’ and really tries to remain housetrained, even in kennels, so it’s likely home life won’t be a complete novelty to him, but we can’t be certain of this. Time left alone would be best built up gradually to ensure he is happy. He loves settling on a nice bed while in kennels, so giving him a nice comfy area to relax in will likely help with this. Car travel is another area that will need work. We can’t wait to find Vinny’s perfect match and to see him in a home where he belongs.

Vinny is a beautiful boy who would love to find a quiet home of his own. We have no home history for him and we’re not sure if he’s ever been around children. Intense handling can make him a bit anxious but he is friendly and would be able to live with sensible older teenagers. At the moment he would need to be the only dog in the home, but he does do well with doggy walking friends. While he’s settled in wonderfully now, he was a little apprehensive at first. A secure garden would give him the option to explore his new world at his own pace before setting out on wider adventures. When Vinny came into our care his fur was very matted. For that reason he was given a welfare groom, which is why he is shaved in the photos. His fur will grow back, it will just take a bit of time.
