Lovely Bert certainly made an impression on everyone when he arrived, with his terrible breath! His poor back teeth were in an awful state but now he's had the offending peggys removed, he's fresh as a daisy and ready for his new home. He's a loving, friendly boy, he really enjoys affection from people and was very tolerant of the vet poking about his poorly mouth. He's bagged a place in one of our fantastic foster homes where he's getting used to home comforts and is very much enjoying having a routine. Bert walks very happily with other medium to large dogs but we know from his previous owner that he'd had a few scuffles with some of the other Greyhounds, so he's best as the only dog at home, but he can certainly meet up with others for the popular Greyhound walks. As he is a big lad and isn't used to children, he'll need a home where any kids are 12 or over. He gets a little excited over his toys but swaps quite happily for others. Bert has nailed the Greyhound "lean" and likes to do it a lot on his foster people! He's being an excellent house guest, he doesn't bother when people are eating and is generally a very laid back lad. Bert never tries to go upstairs, or get on the furniture, he's happy with a duvet on the floor. He likes routine and has shown himself to be a very loving companion. Your application won't be specifically for Bert, but you can add him to your favourites along with any others, to give us an idea of the type of dog you like. Once you've submitted an application, we cannot change or update your favourites. Adding a favourite to your application is not a reservation, but a guide for us to find you a good match.

Bert is an ex racer who will need to be the only pet at home. He had previously lived outside but has settled back into home life and is house trained now. He can live with children of high school age. He doesn't like to be by himself at home so will need a family where ideally there can be someone with him all the time.
