Melissa - female Greyhound

Adoption fee: Please check with the rescue

  • Centre:Dogs Trust
  • Location:Liverpool
  • Sex:Female
  • Breed:Greyhound
Melissa was a shy girl when we met her and a slow and gentle was definitely the way forward with her. She fund her way into a foster home and began to shine very quickly! Her foster carer describes her as "a fully qualified couch potato" but also very loving and up for fun and playtimes. She comes alive when she gets a belly rub! Melissa has been cautious of men on her walks, especially those wearing hats, so any gents wishing to adopt her may have to visit a couple of times before gaining her trust. She now lives happily with two chaps in her foster home. She's had a lot to deal with in a short time and is trying her best. Mel is very food orientated and has potential to pinch foods she can reach, but this has lessened in her foster home where she has regular meals. She has seen cats on her walks and not been too bothered by them, but we do recommend that care be taken around small furries and wildlife, and she is used to wearing a muzzle. Melissa does like to play and can reduce a soft toy to fluff within minutes!

Melissa can live with children of high school age but will need to be the only dog at home. She has become house trained whilst in a foster home. Mel has sore hips and may require lifelong pain relief.
