Hello, my name is Cindy, and I am a 5-year-old Greyhound that is hoping to find a perfect retirement home.

I am a bit of a nervous soul, I have found it very difficult settling in here even though everyone is very nice. I have been kennelled with another Greyhound that I came in with, Trixie. She is much more confident than me, so I am watching her and learning that going for walks is a good thing! Before we lived together, I would hide away in my crate all day, whereas now I will come out more and I want to go out for walks. I will need my new family to take things slowly with me, and help me to settle in my new home.

I can live with older children that wouldn't be noisy or have too many noisy friends round, as that would really worry me. They would need to be able to read my body language and understand when I need space, or some reassurance. I would really like to live with another dog, as I find them very comforting. We would need to meet here at the centre and during a home visit to make sure that we get on well. I can't live with cats as I would want to chase them!

I am not used to being left on my own, and any training to get me to that point will need to be very slow and carefully done once I have settled in. I will likely attach to my family very quickly when I realise they are lovely, so I won't want to be away from them. Lots of positive training in my own time will be really helpful!

If you have space in your heart and home for a shy girl like me, then please apply for me today.
