29-01-24 Alfie originally came to us as a puppy and found a lovely home but unfortunately recently he has started showing signs of food aggression around the other dogs in the home. Unfortunately this issue wasn't able to be managed in his home and so he has come back to us. Alfie is a wonderful boy who gets along well with other dogs as long as there isn't food around and plays well with dogs but does particularly enjoy playing rough and tumble with bigger dogs. We feel that currently he would be best suited to being homed as an only dog. Alfie LOVES to go for walks and will be looking for a very active home with adopters who will keep him both mentally and physically stimulated. He is used to going on long walks and typically walks around 8-10 miles a day, sometimes up to 16 miles, so would really like to find a family who will take him on similar length walks. He can pull on the lead and does like to chase squirrels and game birds so this is something his adopters will need to be mindful of. He is an amazing boy who loves to play with toys and especially loves ball games. He has good recall and knows the basic commands of sit, paw and down. He is a little shy at the moment as he's bound to be feeling overwhelmed to be back here, but we don't think it will take him long to start to come out of his shell again. He loves all humans and has been happy meeting children as well but due to his food guarding issues we would be looking for an adult only home for him with adopters who have prior experience of dogs with food guarding behaviours. Alfie has a passport.
