Romeo - male Lurcher

Adoption fee: Please check with the rescue

  • Centre:Dogs Trust
  • Location:Canterbury
  • Sex:Male
  • Breed:Lurcher
Blessed with brains, beauty and bounce, 5 year old Lurcher, Romeo, is a charming goofball who thrives on attention and love! Among his joys are frolicking with squeaky toys and engaging in playful bouts of tug-of-war with teddies and rope toys. Romeo is a friendly and social guy who likes to be part of your daily activities and is eager to please and loves a tasty treat, making training sessions with him a delightful experience. He loves exploring on walks and stretching his legs with a big run around in our secure field! He is the ultimate adventure buddy, motivating you to stay active and reach those daily step goals! Once he has done all his walking, running around and playing, there is nothing Romeo loves more than curling up for sleepy cuddles with his favourite humans on the sofa. Romeo will make a brilliant, fun and affectionate buddy for a very lucky home! You can see more photos and videos of Romeo and all the other dogs in our care on our Instagram account @DogsTrust_Canterbury

Romeo is looking for a loving and patient home with active owners who have the time to give him a life full of adventures and give him all the love and training he needs to thrive! Romeo would like a home with no other pets so he can relax in his environment but he can have walking buddies when out and about that will tolerate his bounce! Any children in the home will need to aged 14 years and over and be confident with big dogs and understand that Romeo can be a bit clumsy when he is playing! He could be left alone for short periods of time but would like lots of company when he first goes home to help him settle in to his new routine, so leaving time will need to be built up gradually once he has settled in. He is a little bit unsettled in the car at first but settles eventually so he would benefit from minimal car journeys and that they are short wherever possible. Romeo will need all his basic training and housetraining so will need access to his own private and secure garden. He would benefit from an off lead run now and then in a secure field so that he can stretch his legs! Romeo will need to meet his adopters multiple times prior to going home to build a strong bond so please bear this in mind when applying. He may need visits from our behaviour team once he goes home so adopters will need to live within 90 minutes driving distance from the Canterbury Rehoming Centre so please bear this in mind prior to applying for him. If you rent your property, please have written permission from your landlord ready once you have submitted your application to avoid delays, as it will be required early on in the rehoming process if you are shortlisted.
