  • Location:Canterbury
  • Sex:Male
  • Breed:Lurcher
Stitch is a tall, handsome and super sweet 5 year old Lurcher with the most wonderful expressive ears who has so much love to give to a very lucky home! As well as being a playful boy, he is also very affectionate once he gets to know you, leaning in for fusses and scratches. He doesn’t appear to know much in the way of training at the moment, but he is a very foody boy, so this will be a great way to engage him in training and to reinforce positive behaviours to help him learn new things. He has shown us that he loves using his brain with puzzle toys like snuffle mats where he has to use his brain to get his treats! Stitch is a wonderful boy with so much potential and will make the perfect addition to a home looking for a cuddle and walking companion.

Stitch is looking for a loving home who have the time and patience to introduce him to his new life as a family pet, teach him all his basics and give him all the love he deserves! He can live with children aged 12 years and over who are aware that he doesn’t always keep all his paws on the floor and who will be mindful around him with treats as he can take them a bit quickly if he is excited! Stitch can live alongside another medium to large size dog who will happily co-exist with him and have the occasional play time. If he is the only dog in his home he would be happy to have doggy buddies to potter along with on walks. Although he can manage some time on his own, possibly up to around 4 hours, this will need to be introduced and built up gradually after an initial settling period with lots of company so he gets used to his new environment and routine. His adopters should be prepared to start his training from scratch, including housetraining. He will need regular access to his own private garden for his housetraining and for pottering and playing. Stitch is quite an agile lad, so his garden will need 6 foot fences to keep him safe and secure. Stitch will need to meet his adopters a few times prior to going home so please bear this in mind when applying. If you rent your property, please have written permission from your landlord ready once you have submitted your application to avoid delays, as it will be required early on in the rehoming process if you are shortlisted. Please note that should you be shortlisted, our rehoming process usually takes between 7 - 10 days.
