Riley - male Lurcher Cross

Everyone who meets Riley adores him straight away. He loves to have a zoom and play with his ball followed by a snooze. He is found most mornings tucked up in a duvet. Riley has a love for cheese and peanut butter but his main love in life is a tennis ball. Riley would love nothing more than to constantly chase a ball and have a game of fetch, but adopters will be encouraged to not do this as he has hurt himself in the past with chasing a ball and our training team will be happy to talk about other fun activities you can do with him. Riley would love nothing more than to find a nice cosy home with a duvet of his own to snuggle up in.

You won’t be applying for a specific dog, but you can tell us what type of dog you’re looking for. You can also add up to four favourites to your application to give us an idea of the dogs you like, so we can consider you for similar dogs. Once you’ve submitted your application, we can’t change or update your favourites. Adding a dog to your application is not a reservation but a guide for us to find you a match.

Riley is a super sweet boy who can become overwhelmed in new situations and does lack confidence initially. Once Riley comes out of his shell, he is a super playful and loves a game of fetch with his ball. He would be best suited to an adult only home with a maximum of two people in the home who are willing to carry on his training. Not too many visitors to the home would be ideal for Riley as he does prefer a calm environment. Riley is sociable with other dogs and enjoys having walking friends but will need to be the only pooch in the home. Riley will need to have his family around for him initially to help him settle into his new life and build up any leaving hours gradually over time. Riley will need to have multiple meets at the centre and visits to the home before he is adopted.
