Riley - Female Poodle (Miniature)

03-10-23 Riley has come to us from a breeder to find her forever home. She is a large miniature poodle weighing 11.9kg. She is a beautiful but scared girl who is quite overwhelmed to find herself here at the moment. She is very sweet and gentle but is very worried about being handled and will try her best to run away from you at the moment and can be a flgiht risk. As she is quite worried, she will be looking for a calm and quiet, adult home home where there is at least one other confident dog to be her friend and take her under their wing. She will need lots of kindness and TLC as she starts to learn all about her new life and begins to put her trust in you. She has never lived in a home before so her adopters will need to be kind and understanding as she settles in and learns all about home life and house training. She can't yet walk on a lead and harness and will need to practice this first around the home and garden until she is confident enough to venture outside. She is a sweet girl and with plenty of kindness and love she will start to blossom and come out of her shell. Riley has a PETS travel document. 05-11-23 UPDATE Riley is a sweet but nervous little lady who finds her confidence when around other dogs. She will cautiously approach the staff she works with regularly but is still unsure of new people. This little angel spends most of her days cuddled up in the back of her kennel with her kennel mates but she will have a little run around when out in her yard. A home with children likely wouldn’t be suitable for this sweetie as she’s just a little too nervous and they may frighten her. She will need a very patient home who understands it could take some time for her to settle and that she could potentially always be a little nervous. You can tell when you’re around her that she desperately wants to investigate us humans but she hasn’t quite got the confidence yet to completely interact with us. In the right home, with people who are willing to give her her time and space and go at her pace, she’s sure to flourish into a wonderful little dog.
