Rita - Female Poodle (Miniature)

03-10-23 Rita has come to us from a breeder to find her forever home. She is a very worried girl who is very overwhelmed to find herself here at the moment and is really unsure of humans and their intentions. She is a small miniature poodle weighing just over 6kg. She is very uncomfortable being handled at the moment and if she feels pushed out of her comfort zone she may panic and make the wrong decision. Rita will be looking for a calm and quiet, adult only home with no visiting children. She will need adopters who have prior experience with scared ex-breeding dogs and will need at least one other kind and confident resident dog in her new home to be her friend and help her to realise that humans can be kind. She has never lived in a home before so her adopters will need to be understanding as she settles in and learns about home life and new skills like house training. She doesn't yet know how to walk on a lead and harness and this will need to be gradually introduced to her, first around the home and garden until she is confident enough to venture outside. We can see that there is a very sweet girl hiding beneath the surface, she just needs lots of TLC to help her feel safe and begin to trust. Once she trusts you, she really is going to me the most amazing girl, so please don't overlook her. Rita has a PETS travel document. 05-11-23 UPDATE Rita has seen our vet and been spayed. She has an ear infection which is being treated and this should hopefully soon clear up.
