Solomon - male Rottweiler

Adoption fee: Please check with the rescue

  • Centre:Dogs Trust
  • Location:Darlington
  • Sex:Male
  • Breed:Rottweiler
Solomon has shown us his love for toys. He especially likes the soft type! He could benefit from learning to 'drop and swap' so the fun can be extended to interacting with his family. Although he can find handling conflicting at times he does much prefer to have you around and likes to have your presence there. Solomon just needs a little extra time to adjust to his environments before showing off his more relaxed nature.

You won’t be applying for a specific dog, but you can tell us what type of dog you’re looking for. You can also add up to four favourites to your application to give us an idea of the dogs you like, so we can consider you for similar dogs. Once you’ve submitted your application, we can’t change or update your favourites. Adding a dog to your application is not a reservation but a guide for us to find you a match.

A quieter home environment will be ideal for Solomon. He does enjoy being in the company of his human pals and but is lacking confidence with formal handling. He'll need his family to be patient whilst he settles in and understand when he needs some space. Solomon has been used to having someone at home throughout the day so will need a home with minimal leaving hours and this can be introduced at a gradual pace once he's found his paws. He'll be ok to live with older teens 16yrs+ who are used to larger breeds. Solomon would prefer to be the only pooch in the home. Potential adopters will be invited to meet Solomon a few times prior to his adoption day. Solomon is on some medication to help with his legs and does attend hydrotherapy here at the Darlington centre which adopters will be asked to continue brining him back for, free of charge. Our vet team will be happy to discuss his medical needs with adopters.
