Peanut - female Shih Tzu Cross

Peanut is a lovely little girl but she is quite nervous at first around new people, and has recently been returned to us for suddenly showing negative reactions towards some people. Her new family will need to give her time to settle and find her paws. Her carers at the centre have been careful to not overwhelm Peanut and to try to keep up the confidence she gained during her first stay with us, as at that time she wasn't even used to walking on a lead. Peanut doesn't seem to know much basic training currently, so given the time to settle in first, may benefit from some easy training that will help to boost her confidence. It would also help her if her family keep their distance from strangers when out walking so that Peanut doesn't feel threatened or unsure, but instead learns to focus on her handler when other people are nearby. Help and advice are always on hand from the team at the centre who will be happy to guide Peanut's adopters throughout and beyond the whole process.

Peanut is looking for a home without children or other pets, and where there is someone around with her for the majority of the day. Her coat will need regular grooming to keep on top, so this is a cost that should be taken into consideration. Peanut is house trained as long as she she is given plenty opportunities to go outside. She isn't currently on any medication but is scheduled for an echocardiogram at the end of April.
