Poppy is an absolutely gorgeous and sweet 4 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier who can't wait to find her new home with a family who will love her as much as she will adore them. Being an active girl, she enjoys her walks and loves being out and about, doing lots of sniffing and exploring. She is instantly friendly with everyone she meets, accepting fusses before moving off to carry on her exploring. Once a bond is built, she becomes super affectionate and loves a cuddle on the sofa. Poppy is real ‘people’ dog, she is just bursting with love to give a very lucky family.

Poppy is looking for a stimulating and loving home where she will be included in the life and activities of her new family. Poppy has had quite an unsettling time, so will need patient and understanding adopters who will give her all the support and time she needs to settle in her new environment. Poppy has met a few dogs while being with us at the centre and can feel uncomfortable when meeting dogs and is sometimes a bit over the top with her interactions so she will need to be the only pet in her home. Poppy would be best suited to home with children 16+ without young visiting children so she can enjoy a relaxed environment without too much hustle and bustle. She is clean in her kennel and was housetrained in her previous home so will need her own private garden for this and to burn off some of her energy. When doing training, she has some basics and has the potential to learn lots more with treat rewards. Poppy can be a little worried when visiting the vets, so she has been muzzle trained to make her feel more comfortable during her vet visits. Poppy will need a period of time with lots of company before she can be introduced to being left on her own as she can be unsettled initially and can get quite worried. Poppy will need to meet her adopters a few times prior to going home so please bear this in mind when applying. If you rent your property, please have written permission from your landlord ready once you have submitted your application to avoid delays, as it will be required early on in the rehoming process if you are shortlisted. Please note that should you be shortlisted, our rehoming process usually takes between 7 - 10 days.
