Carlow is a sweet, soppy and playful 16 month old Italian Corso Cross who is bursting with character. He loves exploring on his walks and finding new walking spots. He is such a funny boy and makes us laugh at the centre every day with his antics! He loves squeaky toys and teddies, enjoys tasty treats and snacks and these will be great ways to engage him in positive training and build a lovely bond with him. He is a beautiful boy who, with time, love, training and patience will make a fantastic addition to a very lucky home.

Carlow is looking for a home with adopters who have the time and patience to help him settle in to his new life. He is a big, young lad and will need a moderate amount of daily exercise, so he is looking for active adopters who will take him on fun adventures. He is still learning his manners, so an adult only home without visiting children will suit him best and although he would benefit from having doggy pals to walk and play with, he would prefer to be the only dog in his home and he cannot live with cats or small animals. He will need adopters who are ready to undertake all his basic training including housetraining so will need access to his own private garden with 6 foot minimum fencing to keep him secure. Although Carlow could cope with short leaving times of an hour or so, he will need a settling in period with lots of company so that he can get used to his new environment with his humans around. We consider the primary breed of Carlow to be Cane Corso and therefore do not believe that he would be considered an American Bully XL type. Carlow will need to meet his adopters multiple times prior to going home to build a strong bond and depending on the progression of those meets he may need visits from our behaviour team once he goes home so adopters will need to live within 45 minutes driving distance from the Canterbury Rehoming Centre so please bear this in mind prior to applying for him. If you rent your property, please have written permission from your landlord ready once you have submitted your application to avoid delays, as it will be required early on in the rehoming process if you are shortlisted.
